GOLDEN RULE
"Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is nonexistent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery—celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from—it’s where you take them to.”

watching Confessions of a shoppoholic

oh my god! i so so identify with sophie i mean....i watched it really late in the night and really needed some entertainment in a days work or may be some stress lately im suffereing from, and I had it! the green scarf?? I have had a purple scarf that rings a bell... i mean i m not strictly in high label fashion but the things that i like are the ones i want to own sumtimes even from a flee market. But those things speak to me 'take me home' things that just define me, I couldnt possibly explain. But at the end of the year i do shop more then what i hmm.... nevermind. yep i admit to being a victim of shopping. it makes me happy!
And are there any 'Luke alikes' in the town or world!
this movie so makes sense to me just like the book.

My realisations
Romantic love / marriage - it is natural human tendency to be attracted to a number of people... but romantic is when you choose to (like) afford to (money) and bear to (patience) to be with only one.

Saturday night
By the way yesterday had been to the saturday night bazaar after a long time. like it there. like the people there, so free, having fun, shaking hands, eating, drinking, listening to live music, shopping with 'weird' hairstyles and clothes. the music went on pass 2 in the night. also found out that the guy who was once teaching me to play guitar plays there at 7, havent seen him for about 8 years now.
love some 'junk' there. liked a pair of sandals but was expensive, picked some stuff for the summer. also saw Soha ali Khan ... she looked unreal, very pretty, her skin was like creamy buttery delicate. she was chatting away with her friends...quite aloud... unlike her screen presence. somtimes we see them on screen and fail to percieve of them as humans, like they are some ghosts manufactured by imagination of somone out there. she reminded me of one of my friends from college ...
actually that place reminded me of the tatoo i always wanted to get for such a long time now. i havent decided where or what design but mostly it will be somwhere on my back!! lets see.

THE REASONS I QUIT MY JOB
- Got bored.
- didn’t feel appreciated enough
- Felt that there was so much more out there
- Was bored of routine
- Was bored of the same faces (hihihi)
- Had trouble with a different place, different food.
- Missed my mums food.
- Couldn’t adjust to the room and roommates (hihi!! again)
- Was tired of restrictions.
- Salary was never raised to expectation
- Mostly out of funds.
-Wanted to see what it is to be inreality out of funds.
- Never got to run out in the rain while in the office (though couple of time did)
-Was fedup of the coffee we drank at Uncles, they cud not even make good tea.
- Never got to pick some important phone calls in the office.
- Since everyday was a bore it became important to watch movies in the theater every weekend.
- Missed out on all the television soaps especially the zee cafe.
- Missed family and friends.
- Met more people to miss.
- Felt like had no life even though we had fabulous lunch and dinners, clubbed occasionally, hanged out at friends flat for homemade dinners/lunches/barbeques, traveled to the most exquisite places around.
- Wanted to see how much I miss being in an office.
- Wanted to try something different then architecture.
- Was tired of all the internal politics sometimes.
- Wanted to laze more.
- Wanted to see what exactly is not having a job.
- Wanted to come to dad and spend time with him.
- Wanted to have time to paint and read.
- Wanted to see if I could manage to be self employed.
- Was always expecting something different and drastic everyday but nothing ever happend.
- Felt as if Ideas got stagnated.
- Everybody thought it was crazy. and had never done anything this wild.

legends of your own mind- dedicated to the Romantics in you.
TO THE UNKNOWN MANY
I raise no glass to the man whose fame
has spread from coast to coast,
whose talents have served to place his name
with those men we honored most.
My toast is not for the hero who
has won deserved applause
who has done as the brave alone may do
In a daring, righteous cause.
I drink no health to the one whose voice
Mankind shall never forget,
Whose genius has made the world rejoice
And left it n her debt.
I raise my glass to the silent horde
Spread over the world expanse,
The unknown many who might have soared
But never had a chance.

suncreen -BazLuhrmann
Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ’97-Wear SunscreenIf I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it.The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experienceI will dispense this advice now.
-Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth, oh nevermind, you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they've faded. But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourselfand recall in a way you can’t grasp now, how much possibility lay before youand how fabulous you really looked, you are not as fat as you imagine.
-Don’t worry about the future, or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind, the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.
-Do one thing everyday that scares you
-Sing
-Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours.
-Floss
-Don’t waste your time on jealousy, sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind, the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with yourself.
-Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults, if you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
-Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements.
-Stretch
-Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your life, the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still don’t.
-Get plenty of calcium.
-Be kind to your knees, you’ll miss them when they’re gone.
-Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll have children, maybe you won’t,Maybe you’ll divorce at 40,Maybe you’ll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversaryWhat ever you do, don’t congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either Your choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s.
-Enjoy your body, use it every way you can, don’t be afraid of it,or what other people think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever own
-Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.
-Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them.
-Do not read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.
-Get to know your parents, you never know when they’ll be gone for good.
-Be nice to your siblings, they are the best link to your pastand the people most likely to stick with you in the future.
-Understand that friends come and go, but for the precious few you should hold on.Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle because the older you get,the more you need the people you knew when you were young.
-Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard,Live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.
-Travel.
-Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will philander, you too will get old, and when you do you’ll fantasize that when you were youngprices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders.
-Respect your elders.
-Don’t expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund,Maybe you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one might run out.
-Don’t mess too much with your hair, or by the time you're 40, it will look 85.
-Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it.Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.

Just a thot, playing god
I find Philosophy very comforting...........i dont know what it is but that is the right word......power of words that it influences innumerable people. Power of thoughts of great men, their ideas are overwhelming.
somehow it takes away my lonliness. And at the same time i enjoy being alone with it!

Reading Shopoholic takes Manhattan
Reading 'Shopoholic takes Manhattan' was a
different experience.......actually it is so far the 'most quickly read' book by
me. i think 5-6 days, coz mostly book that thick takes pretty while for me. i m
pretty slow, im also selective, so i can afford to be that slow... the reason
that book was quick for me was because i was on a vacation to kerala and had
nothing to do there and also the book is actually light and but so
'insightfull'......i loved it......its romantic comedy with such wise
detailing...'God in the Gucci' elaborated. all that you think about.....the way
you /mostly all women feel while shoping...its the truth. its like psycology of
women while shopping.. all that you feel from shopping to charity to attending
oprah or hosting somthing like that...all the great thoughts that you have are
reduced to being just a SHOPOHOLIC. i think its a great book for any one
attempting to know this side of women...(jus one tiny tiny side ok). its a kind
of book that keeps u entertained throughout with a climax and offcourse a Happy
ending!
